My Big brother was in town and it always seems we go to his favorite pizza joint The Pie. It's kind of an unwritten law that you can write your name on the wall.  I thought if you can write something why not paint something. When my folks went to college thats where they chilled and it's still a college hang out today. I'm curious to see how long this little guy lasts.

Jinkies!  That's right lowly ol' me is in a Mag.  Mark Eko's Complex magazine June/July issue.

I was one of the "Amazingly Smooth" designers, for their recent campaign with Dr Pepper. Not going to lie it's a little odd to open up a magazine and see your own face on page 4. I'm stoked! I did a Dr. Pepper x Skullcandy headphone that is super limited. I was told it will show up in one boutique shop in CA and one in NY. They even did a dope little video on Skullcandy and me.

Here are some quick rough draft Headband options I did. Because I was featured in the mag as the designer I wanted to do something that represented my style and maybe get my name out there.  Dr.Pepper didn't like any of them.  They wanted something really clean and subtle with their logo on it.  I feel that there are endless numbers of designers who can do "clean design." My thought is that you wouldn't go to Van Gogh and tell him to put your logo on something...you could get anyone to do that.  You would go to Van Gogh because you wanted his style and personality featured in your product. (Its not like I'm Van Gough but...) Its really hard to express your personality and style on something clean, if you've got an illustrative style.  Due to the long corporate approval process, I just gave up on representing myself and gave them what they wanted. When they interviewed me they asked what my inspiration was. It's hard to answer when the idea used wasn't even mine.

24hr Comic 2010

Here's my 24hr comic I did back in Oct 2010.

 Two things to consider. One, I did all the drawing, inking and writing in 24hrs straight. Two, I know the art isn't that great but, it was a rush job and a great challenge. I was able to see what i could do in an allotted time.  Copies of this sold at Night Flight comics, Black Cat Comics, Dr. Volts Comic Connection and House of Secrets in Burbank.
